“Website Optimization 360” – Four Common Online Advertising Models Shared
Before talking about online advertising models, let me first look back on my journey growing up alongside the Internet:
In April 2013, I reopened a Taobao store I had left idle. Back then, I noticed that many video resources, website templates, website source codes, and free e-books I often found on Baidu were being sold on Taobao. Some even sold extremely well with high sales volumes. What does this tell us? There was a market, and plenty of people had demand for these items.
At that time, I realized many things could be bought cheaply and resold. Selling digital products was very profitable — practically high margin with low investment. You purchased them once, sold them permanently, and incurred no additional costs.
Later, I followed this model, selling website templates, website source codes, and gradually developed new products. Slowly, my Taobao store gained a richer product range. If you’re interested, you can try it too. You could even name your store something like “XX Network Company”. But if you plan to do this, you need to be mentally prepared.
Why mental preparation? First, you must be eager to learn, have a spirit of in-depth research, and stay patient. Even though you’re the boss, customers are your livelihood — you must have a service mindset. If you don’t, I advise you to give up.
First, why be eager to learn?
If you don’t learn, how will you know how to decorate your store, operate it, or promote it?
Another important reason for learning: if you plan to enter website construction, templates, or source code services, you must learn HTML, the TP framework, and MySQL databases. This is essential. If you don’t understand these, when customers buy your products and complain about issues, you at least need to know enough to fix small problems.
I remember when I ran this business, I often stayed up late, sitting alone in front of the computer studying source codes and solving customer problems. Customers are God, so I had to serve them well.
Second, why a spirit of in-depth research?
This is crucial. Don’t give up when facing difficulties. Learn to find solutions and dig deeper — there will always be a way out. If you aren’t good at researching problems, you’ll easily panic and lose direction when things get complicated.
Third, why stay patient?
You’ll be facing a computer all day. If you’re highly interested, it’s fine. But if your interest is low, it will be hard to persist.
Fourth, why a service mindset for business?
No industry can do without service. When customers buy your products, your job doesn’t end after payment. We shouldn’t do one-off deals. With that attitude, your business won’t last. Instead, we should warmly provide technical support, follow up, and resolve customer doubts. Only in this way can we win customers — and once you have customers, profits will follow.
