Many people ask me whether they can master SEO well. My opinion is that the definition of “mastering SEO” varies — the word “mastery” carries several different meanings. True mastery requires favorable timing, geographical convenience, and good luck, as well as the accumulation of time and energy. Basic proficiency, however, can be achieved even at the beginner level. Anyone can learn SEO, but it is not recommended for people who are either too old or too young, those without interest, those lacking execution ability, or those unable to think independently.

 

Everyone can receive SEO training, but whether everyone can master it is highly questionable. Many people ask me: To what level can I achieve by learning SEO from you? Think about it: Almost everyone has received nine-year compulsory education, but has any school ever guaranteed admission to a key high school? That is a fallacy. Can anyone learn SEO? What must be mastered? The arrival of the online marketing era has aroused great interest among many people who want to learn SEO. In fact, anyone can study this skill. However, keep this in mind: it is not as simple as we imagine. To truly learn and master it proficiently is extremely difficult — especially if you plan to study by yourself, which will be even harder.

 

1. Persistence and patience are the keys to successful SEO learning

 

When you first enter the field of SEO, you may think it is really simple. But to achieve results, you must keep learning continuously. Never just have a flash in the pan and then give up. That is why most people fail on the road to success. Those who can apply SEO skills well and earn money from it are the real successes.

 

SEO also requires patience, as it cannot produce quick results and takes a long time. Many people see no effects after a long period and start doubting whether their methods are wrong or whether they lack the ability, so they choose to give up. But those who keep going despite difficulties succeed. As the saying goes, success belongs to the latter.

 

There are no secret tricks to SEO. If there were any, they would only be ineffective, such as black-hat SEO. Although such methods can quickly achieve rankings, the site will eventually be penalized (de-indexed or “K-ed”), so they are not recommended.

 

2. Choose keywords with relatively low competition to test your SEO learning results

 

Even those with strong abilities who learn SEO well should avoid choosing highly competitive keywords at the very beginning. As a beginner, without a team, it is almost impossible to rank for such keywords.

 

When starting optimization and promotion, choose low-competition keywords. With effort, you can achieve the expected results. Each small success brings motivation and gives you the drive to challenge more difficult keywords later.
